Would could have been potentially been a very frustrating let down was handled beautifully, didn't mind the extra wait time at all. Drinks were great, so many options! And by the time we got through with the tour (we had several sips en route) I was feeling pretty happy. He said a guide would be coming along shortly to give us the tour and in the mean time we could wait at the bar and have a round of drinks on the house. The manager came over to us and apologized that there was some sort of miscommunication between the scheduler and the tour guides, and they thought they were done for the day. He went to the back and after a few minutes came back with my phone, letting us know the manager will be with us and have a seat at the bar. Perplexed he asked if he could show my phone to the manager (I didn't really feel comfortable but passed it over). Transgender Community Coalition and Transgender Health and Wellness Center are two sister organizations with a similar mission statement as to put the needs of the transgender, intersex, and gender diverse community first. We were on vacation and had booked a private tour in the late afternoon, when we got there we told the guy at the door we were there for a tour, he stated that there weren't any tours scheduled for that afternoon, I showed him my confirmation e-mail for that time and date. It was such fun and the love band was great. We danced, talked and laughed and had so much fun we ended up staying past when we planned.
By this time free well and tap drinks for ladies had started so I grabbed another beer. Then it was time to meet up with our friends again and just let loose. It was fun and I highly suggest it to brush up or learn for the first time as we did. We were taught two style of dance which I can’t remember the names of now. We had paired up with a couple of guys to make it easier to learn the steps.
They had two dance instructors who demonstrated the steps and then allowed us to practice, giving tips and pointers as we went. We decided it would be fun so we headed into an interior room. They needed some more people at their dance class so they asked my friend if she wanted to join in. No problem for us since we stand at work anyways. You can have more people than chairs at a table but you need to stand. Covid rules are don’t move the chairs around. It was not crowded that early and we snagged a high top to park at. Got a beer and waited for the ladies to show. Wandered around to check things out since it had been a while since I’d been there. Jorge reached out to Garcia on his original Facebook post, assuring the community that the policies at X Bar are inclusionary.Long time coming but we made it to ladies’ night! Got there early as I wasn’t planning to be out late since I had to wake up at zero dark thirty the next day. We should be fighting together, not putting blame on anybody or wasting all of our voices towards blaming the wrong people."
We had a Hillary support event at the bar. "We're fighting for the same immigration rights. "This has turned into a fight that is really being pointed at the wrong people," Pesqueira said. He considers X Bar to be an inclusive space and thinks some of the anger toward the bar's ownership may be misdirected. Pesqueira pointed out that he was born and raised in Mexico. "Someone put it up as satire and we want to make sure everyone is clear that we don't support any of the negative things behind this," Alix said. In an email statement and a separate Facebook post, they denounced both the image and the sentiment behind it. The owners are currently investigating how the display went up without permission, Alix told Mic. "This is not an image we want to portray," Alix said. The bar's owners, Steven Alix and Jorge Pesqueira, said in a phone interview that they never saw the display and were out of town when it went up - without ownership's permission. "And if it weren't for Gia, who is a woman of color, the fact that no one else was saying anything about it besides her was shocking for me." "As a gay man in Denver, I felt like it's incredible that people would be OK with ," Garcia said in a phone interview.
